This is a heavily interactive web application, and JavaScript is required. Simple HTML interfaces are possible, but that is not what this is.

(Certainly when I started out in copyediting the dropping of most accent marks you couldn't find in French, Spanish, German, etc., had a lot to do with the limitations of typesetters as well.)
