This is a heavily interactive web application, and JavaScript is required. Simple HTML interfaces are possible, but that is not what this is.

Here's the full code for the effect. There's ~6 lines of logic and only 4 uniforms... Not bad!
You can take the effect muuuch further with little to no effort.
