3. As many words as possible are sourced from Proto-Indo-European, specifically the well-cited list on Wikipedia. Notable exceptions are "deveto" (nine), which is from "devet", common across Slavic languages, and "zi" (they, pl), which comes from the German "sie," because it's similar to "ki."
