"Galaxy" is from the Greek phrase galaxias kyklos, meaning “milky circle,” from galaktos, "milk."
Therefore, the phrase "Milky Way galaxy" is repetitive (a pleonasm). The words “galaxy,” “lactose,” “lactation,” and “latte” are all related—and so is “lettuce,” named for its milky-looking juice.
