I'm gonna hot take and say there was a decent idea here. Diablo Cody, who co-wrote the pilot, is a very talented screenwriter (Go watch Lisa Frankenstein). I wanna say the direction is what killed it because yeah, the direction is terrible, but I can't imagine this dialogue working either way lol
