To do that, I looked at how many of each type of batted ball (PU, FB, LD, GB) a pitcher allowed, then multiplied them by the average xwOBA of each type to create a stat I called batted ball runs (bbR).
From there, I calculated how many bbR the pitcher had above average, then converted it to ERA.
